MCP servers in Python, Tanstack DB in beta and build your own 'anything'!
CodeSketched Newsletter - Edition #037
Hello there, fellow visual learner👋🏾
It’s been an amazing Black Friday weekend and I was busy checking out the different tools/products that are on a heavy discount. I finally settled on buying 5 products out of the 8 I had shortlisted. 😅
Anyways, here are the 3 learning resources + 1 sketchnote from the past week that I came across. Hope you’ll find them useful.
Cheers 🙌
❶ MCP servers using Python
If you’ve been following the news about AI in development recently, you might know that MCP servers are all the craze. This short 1-hour course from the OG FreeCodeCamp gives an introduction to the Model Context Protocol and building your MCP servers from scratch in Python. 👇
❷ Tanstack DB in beta!
If you’re a fan of Tanner Linsley and everything Tanstack, then there is some news for you. Their latest offering, Tanstack DB, is now in beta, and you can get your hands dirty with it right now!
The trick it utilizes is - normalized collections so that the backend is simple and query-driven sync, so that data loading on the frontend is optimized. You can check out more details here.
❸ Build your own ‘anything.’
If you are someone who learns by getting their hands dirty, then this Github repository is something you would want to check out. It provides references to several resources that help you build your own - Database, Operating system, physics engine, and even a web browser from the ground up.
It’s a great way to learn how something works by actually building it. Check it out here.
🎁 Extra:
It’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday time!
If you’re looking into creating viral videos with AI but do not want to incur the recurring monthly cost associated with the tools, then there’s a lifetime deal on Yapper.
Check out the lifetime deal here 🎉
